Last Updated: September 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Elegantech Labs Inc. (“Soqy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Soqy mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
Soqy helps people discover nearby fruit and vegetable vendors and contact them directly, including through WhatsApp.
This Privacy Policy applies to both customers who browse Soqy and vendors who create and manage listings.
1. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Soqy.
Customers
You do not currently need to create an account to browse vendors on Soqy.
Location Information
If you give Soqy permission to access your device location, we use that location to help show vendors near you and calculate or display location-based results.
Soqy does not currently store a customer's precise device location in its own database simply because the customer browses nearby vendors.
However, location-related information may be processed by third-party services used to provide mapping and location functionality, such as Mapbox.
You can disable location access at any time through your device settings. Some location-based features may not work correctly if location access is disabled.
Reports
If you report a vendor, listing, or other content, we may collect:
- the listing or vendor being reported;
- the reason for the report;
- information you provide with the report;
- the time the report was submitted; and
- your account identifier if you are signed in when submitting the report.
We use this information to review reports, enforce our Terms of Use, prevent abuse, and improve the reliability of Soqy.
Vendors
Vendors need an account to create and manage a listing.
We may collect:
Account Information
- email address;
- authentication information;
- account identifier; and
- related account information.
Passwords are handled through our authentication provider and are not intended to be stored by Soqy as readable plain-text passwords.
Vendor and Listing Information
We may collect information such as:
- vendor or business name;
- product category;
- WhatsApp or telephone number;
- stall, cart, shop, or operating location;
- working days or hours;
- products offered;
- product prices;
- product availability;
- listing description; and
- photos uploaded for the listing.
Some vendor listing information is intentionally made public so customers can discover and contact vendors.
This may include the vendor's:
- name or business name;
- WhatsApp or phone number;
- location;
- operating schedule;
- products;
- prices; and
- listing photographs.
Vendors should not include personal information in their listings that they do not want customers to see.
2. Usage and Interaction Information
We may collect basic information about how people interact with Soqy.
For example, we may record events such as:
- a vendor listing being viewed;
- a customer tapping a WhatsApp contact button;
- a customer tapping a Call button;
- interactions with listings or products; and
- basic app performance or error information.
Our current product is designed so that customer interaction analytics are generally associated with the vendor or listing being interacted with rather than a customer's personal profile.
However, technical service providers may process information such as device, network, IP address, session, or similar technical information when providing their services.
We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand how Soqy is used and improve the Service.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to operate, maintain, protect, and improve Soqy.
This includes using information to:
- show customers nearby vendors;
- display vendor listings;
- display products and prices;
- provide maps and location features;
- help customers contact vendors;
- authenticate vendor accounts;
- allow vendors to create and update listings;
- process and review reports;
- investigate fraud, abuse, or misleading listings;
- prevent misuse of the Service;
- maintain security;
- diagnose technical problems;
- understand how Soqy is being used;
- improve features and user experience;
- communicate with vendors or users regarding their accounts or the Service;
- enforce our Terms of Use; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not currently sell personal information.
We do not currently use personal information for third-party advertising.
If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notice or consent required by applicable law.
4. Location Information
Location is central to Soqy's nearby-vendor functionality.
If you permit location access, your device may provide precise or approximate location information to Soqy and services that support Soqy's mapping functionality.
Soqy currently uses customer location to provide nearby search functionality and does not intentionally maintain a historical database of customers' precise browsing locations.
However, third-party infrastructure providers may process location and related technical information when providing their services.
You control whether Soqy can access your device location through your phone's operating-system permissions.
Disabling location access may reduce or prevent nearby-vendor functionality.
Vendor locations are different from customer device locations.
A vendor's operating location is stored because it forms part of the vendor's listing and is required so customers can discover the vendor.
5. WhatsApp and Phone Calls
Soqy may provide buttons allowing customers to contact vendors using WhatsApp or their device's telephone functionality.
When you select Contact on WhatsApp, you leave Soqy's environment and interact with WhatsApp.
Soqy does not currently receive or store the contents of conversations between customers and vendors conducted through WhatsApp.
Soqy does not control:
- WhatsApp messages;
- phone conversations;
- information exchanged between customer and vendor;
- orders agreed through WhatsApp;
- payment information exchanged between the parties;
- delivery arrangements; or
- other information provided directly between customer and vendor.
WhatsApp and other third-party services process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Customers should consider what personal information they choose to share directly with vendors.
6. Transactions and Payments
Soqy does not currently process customer orders or payments.
Transactions are arranged directly between customers and vendors outside Soqy.
We therefore do not currently intend to collect:
- payment card numbers;
- bank-account information;
- payment credentials; or
- transaction payment details
as part of Soqy's core Service.
If Soqy introduces ordering, payment, delivery, or other transaction-processing features in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy as appropriate.
7. Service Providers
We use third-party companies to provide infrastructure and functionality required to operate Soqy.
Supabase
We use Supabase for services that may include:
- database hosting;
- account authentication;
- file storage;
- backend infrastructure; and
- related technical services.
Information processed through these services may therefore be processed by Supabase and its authorized infrastructure providers on our behalf.
Mapbox
We use Mapbox for mapping and location-related functionality.
When location functionality is enabled, Mapbox may receive information needed to provide its services, which may include location coordinates and technical information associated with requests.
Mapbox's processing of information is also governed by its own applicable privacy documentation.
Other Providers
As Soqy evolves, we may use additional service providers for activities such as:
- infrastructure;
- analytics;
- error monitoring;
- customer support;
- communications;
- security; or
- hosting.
When reasonably required, we will update this Privacy Policy to reflect material changes to how personal information is processed.
We do not provide personal information to service providers so they can independently advertise products to Soqy users.
8. When We May Share Information
In addition to our service providers, we may disclose information where reasonably necessary:
- to comply with applicable law;
- to comply with a valid court order, subpoena, or lawful government request;
- to investigate suspected fraud or illegal activity;
- to protect the safety or rights of users, vendors, Soqy, or others;
- to enforce our Terms of Use;
- to investigate security incidents; or
- to protect the integrity of the Service.
We may also disclose information in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements.
9. Public Vendor Information
Vendor listings are designed to be visible to customers.
Information published as part of a vendor listing may therefore be accessible to other Soqy users.
For example, a listing may publicly display:
- vendor name;
- business name;
- vendor location;
- phone or WhatsApp number;
- working days or hours;
- products;
- prices; and
- listing photos.
Vendors should only publish information that they are comfortable making available to customers.
10. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including operating Soqy, resolving disputes, maintaining security, complying with legal obligations, and enforcing our agreements.
Vendor account and listing information is generally retained while the vendor account remains active.
When an account is deleted, we may delete or anonymize associated personal information, subject to reasonable technical, backup, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, and legal-retention requirements.
Reports, security information, and records relating to suspected abuse may be retained after an account is deleted where reasonably necessary to protect Soqy, its users, or comply with law.
Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten or deleted through normal backup processes.
11. Account Deletion
Vendors may request deletion of their Soqy account and associated personal information.
Where account deletion functionality is available inside the app, vendors may use that functionality.
You may also contact us using the information at the end of this Privacy Policy.
Certain information may be retained where reasonably necessary or legally required, including information needed for:
- security;
- fraud prevention;
- legal compliance;
- dispute resolution; or
- enforcement of our agreements.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information.
These may include the right to request:
- access to personal information we hold about you;
- correction of inaccurate information;
- deletion of certain personal information;
- information about how your data is processed; or
- withdrawal of consent where processing depends on consent.
Not every right applies in every situation, and applicable law may provide exceptions.
To submit a privacy request, contact us using the details at the end of this Policy.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
13. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information handled through Soqy.
These measures may include:
- authentication controls;
- database access controls;
- encrypted network connections;
- restricted administrative access; and
- security features provided by our infrastructure providers.
However, no internet-connected service, database, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users should protect their account credentials and notify us if they believe their account has been accessed without authorization.
14. International Data Processing
Soqy operates primarily for users and vendors in Egypt, but our company and technology providers may operate infrastructure in other countries.
As a result, personal information may be processed or stored outside Egypt.
When required by applicable law, we take appropriate steps relating to international processing or transfers of personal information.
Our service providers may also process information in accordance with their own infrastructure, contractual commitments, and applicable legal requirements.
15. Children
Soqy is not designed for use by young children.
Vendor accounts are intended for adults who are legally capable of operating or representing their vendor activity.
We do not knowingly design the Service to collect personal information from children for advertising or profiling purposes.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to Soqy inappropriately, contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate action.
16. No Sale of Personal Information
Soqy does not currently sell users' personal information.
We also do not currently provide personal information to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising or similar third-party targeted advertising purposes.
If our practices materially change, this Privacy Policy will be updated and any legally required choices or notices will be provided.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Soqy will continue to evolve.
We may update this Privacy Policy when:
- our features change;
- the information we collect changes;
- we introduce new service providers;
- applicable legal requirements change; or
- our data practices otherwise materially change.
When we make changes, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this Policy.
If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we may provide additional notice where appropriate or required by law.
